LOC 250

 

As new, more versatile, and efficient rigs are delivered to our industry, we believe that coil tubing and casing drilling technologies will become much easier to implement and therefore more attractive.  When applied properly, these technologies provide substantial well costs savings as well as improved production performance.   The LOC 250 is a 6th generation rig and has been designed to economically introduce casing drilling technology into key regions which have substantial opportunities. 

 

 

 

The unit has a 250 ton hook load capacity and its operational capabilities are:

 

Transported as 17 containers that are approx 48’x 8.5’x 10.5’ via normal container transport methods, requiring no special permits or equipments for handling,  

 

Completely automated operations requiring significantly less rig crew training and number of personnel,  

 

Can drill with either conventional drill pipe (12,000 ft) or casing (15,000 ft).

 

The LOC 250 unit could save up to 40% of a typical well cost in the targeted region. Furthermore, based on results from the 5th generation rigs drilling time is reduced and well production is increased significantly.

 

Drillmar has managed one of Tesco's casing drilling rigs (5th generation)  for Apache for the last two years and has drilled +50 wells. Responsibilities include design, engineering, planning and implementation of drilling, completion and commissioning of wells as well as redesigning production systems. The work has been exceptionally successfull.

 

Fidelity Exploration and Production of Texas has already taken delivery of one  (1) LOC250 (pictured above). Drillmar has an interest in the company.
